North Korea, Land of Unicorns

The magical kingdom of North Korea is a much maligned and misunderstood place, according to Ri Chun-hee. Ri, revered for her grace, style and demure charm, famously shouts at North Koreans every evening from the state-run news agency.

has the world’s only Unicorn Lair. Apparently the crack team of North Korean archaeologists found the lair, which dates back thousands of years to when the Unicorn itself was ridden by the ancient Korean King Tongmyong.

What hasn’t been made entirely clear are the reasons the lair took so long to be discovered, considering we now know it is situated in the nation’s capital, Pyongyang, behind a rock on which for close to a thousand years has been carved the words, ‘Unicorn Lair’.

Ancient transcription... yep... unicorns.

Marvelous.

  1. That’s a good question! Clever though… if I was a North Korean unicorn hunter, I probably wouldn’t go looking through caves. No wonder they took so long to finally find it.
